Altieri is a prominent estate in the specialty coffee world, celebrated for its high-altitude cultivation and precision processing. The family-run farm has earned widespread acclaim within the specialty coffee community, repeated ranked at the prestigious Best of Panama competition, including third place for Natural Geisha in 2024. The estate is celebrated for its meticulous quality control and innovative engineering, managing distinct high-altitude zones, including the exceptional Luci plot. Situated at a breathtaking 1,900 to 2,000 meters above sea level, the farm features an optimal microclimate where the cold environment allows the delicate Geisha variety to mature slowly, concentrating its complex sugars and elegant floral traits.
To enhance these intrinsic characteristics, Altieri processes the Geisha lot using a meticulous dry fermentation natural method. By fermenting the cherries in a low-moisture anaerobic tank before drying them inside their specialized climate-controlled Dark Room, they perfectly bridge the gap between a rich, tropical body and an incredibly clean definition.
Opening with a bright, jasmine-like aroma, followed by juicy notes of fresh blood orange, sweet passion fruit, and pineapple. The cup finishes exceptionally clean, offering a transparent, bright acidity and a smooth, elegant mouthfeel that beautifully highlights the premium quality of this wonderful coffee.
