The family-operated estate has earned widespread acclaim within the specialty coffee community, taking first place at the prestigious Cup of Excellence (COE) competition in 2009 and again in 2020 with a honey-processed Geisha, and placing dozens of lots over the years.

The estate is celebrated for its meticulous quality control and strict lot traceability, managing high-altitude lands, including the exceptional Bonavista Farm. Situated at a breathtaking 1,750 meters above sea level, the farm features nutrient-rich soil and an optimal microclimate that allows the delicate Geisha variety to mature slowly, concentrating its complex sugars and elegant floral traits.

To enhance these intrinsic characteristics, Don Mayo processes the Geisha lot using the honey method, a signature technique characteristic of Costa Rica. By leaving a precise amount of sweet mucilage on the bean during drying, they perfectly bridge the gap between a rich body and clean definition.

Opening with a bright, white-flower-like aroma, followed by juicy notes of fresh berries and rich chocolate. The cup finishes exceptionally clean, offering a balanced acidity and a smooth, round mouthfeel that beautifully highlights the elegance of this wonderful coffee.
